Wood Energy Technology Transfer Inc. (WETT Inc.) is a non-profit training and education association managed by a volunteer Board of Directors elected by valid WETT certificate holders. Through its administrative designation, WETT Inc. functions as the national registrar of the WETT program. Through professional training and public education, WETT Inc. promotes the safe and effective use of wood burning systems in Canada.

WETT Inspection

WETT inspections are a one time comprehensive inspection of wood burning appliances and chimneys. With site comprehensive inspector certification attention to detail is our specialty. We fill out all paperwork for you and your insurance company. WETT inspections are the only Insurance recognized certification for wood burning Appliances. 

What is done during a WETT inspection?

A comprehensive look at the clearances to combustibles, burning conditions, unit performance and capability, wood moisture content, wood storage and burn habits. Recommendations are also made for safe burning practices and procedures. We are here to help! 

Why do I need a WETT inspection? -Can this Appliance be insured?

WETT inspections are required for homeowners or renters to receive insurance coverage for wood burning. Often times in order to avoid a condition on a sale or purchase a realtor or a homeowner will request a WETT inspection beforehand. Always a good idea to know in advance of any unsafe conditions that may exist. 

Is the unit safe to use? 

WETT inspection is a comprehensive one time inspection of the installation for the safe operation of a wood-burning Appliance. 

If your WETT inspection does not pass code compliance there is no fee for the site visit. A free written estimate will be given for the requirements of Code Compliance.
